Terms of use
Short, and worth reading if you are going to rely on something here — particularly the first section.

What our guides are, and are not
Everything here is general information, written by a practising, registered childminder, to help you understand a situation and work out what to ask next. It is not medical, legal, diagnostic or financial advice, and reading it does not create a professional relationship between us.
If you are worried about a child's health, development or safety, speak to your health visitor, GP or local authority. In an emergency, call 999. For urgent health advice that is not an emergency, call 111.
Keeping things current
Statutory guidance changes, and it changed twice in 2026 — the EYFS for childminders and the Ofsted inspection framework both changed on 1 September 2026. We date our guides and update them, but we cannot promise every page reflects the law on the day you read it. Where a decision matters, check the current position on GOV.UK or with your local authority.
Using our printables and templates
Our printables, checklists and letter templates are free to download, print and use — for your own family, or inside your own setting, as many times as you like. You may share a link to them.
What you may not do is republish them as your own, sell them, or include them in a paid product. They stay ours.
The letter generator
Our letter tool builds a draft from what you type. It runs in your browser, and we do not receive or store the contents of your letter. You are responsible for checking a letter before you send it — read it through, make sure the facts about your child are right, and change anything that does not sound like you.
The directory
A listing in our directory is not a recommendation, an endorsement, or a check on anyone's registration, insurance or suitability. Always verify a provider's Ofsted registration yourself before you place a child with them.
Courses
Courses are sold as digital content and are for the use of the person who bought them. Access links are personal — please do not pass them on or share them with a group.
Refunds: if a course is not what you expected, email us within 14 days of buying it and we will refund you in full. You do not need to give a reason. This sits alongside your statutory rights, it does not replace them.
Links to other sites
We link out to GOV.UK, the NHS, charities and other organisations because they are useful. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for what they say or do.
If something here is wrong
Tell us. Email caroline@ourkidshub.co.uk with the page and what is wrong with it, and we will correct it or explain why we think it is right. We would much rather know.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
